STRATEGY

By the cause of deprivation of rights from centuries, Bahing community is lagged behind in all spheres of development. As they do lack information and less opportunity to develop their knowledge, skills, they need more exposure or learning opportunities. For this, Bahing Kirat Mulukhim (BKM) will make efforts towards capacity enhancement of Bahing Peoples. They will very beginning by implementing the program activities for them by themselves. For this, the BKM will play the role of facilitator to create an appropriate environment and opportunities for the Peoples.

Bahing Kirat Mulukhim will gave priority towards organizing Peoples and strengthening of BKM. Awareness program activities will be organized to organize Bahing Peoples. Various capacity development activities will be conducted for enhancing capacity of the organization.

BKM will make effort towards getting access to local and national resources, so that the Bahing Peoples will have learning opportunities will have as well as involving in their development process. Similarly, coordination, linkages will be made with support organizations, government line agencies and likeminded organizations, so that support exchanges as well as development activities could be launched collaboratively.

MISSION

Bahing Kirat Mulukhim will achieve the vision through empowering Indigenous Kirat Bahing People and making collective efforts towards protecting and promoting and entertaining rights.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To organize Kirat Bahing through sensitizing, about their rights and obligations and make involve in their development process.
  2. To preserve and promote the language, culture, traditional knowledge, skills of Kirat Bahing by increasing awareness about their importance.
  3. Implement social, economical and political development activities for Bahing Peoples.
  4. Promote and protect the bio-diversity, agro-biodiversity, bio-cultural knowledge and skills, sacred places and natural resources related to this tribe.
  5. Pressurize government authorities and policy makers to formulate appropriate policies and practices to create equal opportunities for all so as to develop equitable and just society.
  6. To develop mutual coordination and collaboration with national and international organizations having similar objective.
  7. Ensure and support the rights of Indigenous people as declared by UN and ILO-169.
  8. To protect and create awareness about traditional knowledge and skills as depicted from our ancestors.
  9. Publish genealogy of Kirat Bahing.
  10. Help disadvantaged group such as women, children, old, poor and disable.
  11. To run classes up to primary level in mother tongue of Bahings.
  12. To provide scholarship to the poor and brilliant Bahing Students.
  13. To publish Yearly magazine or bulletin related to Bahing Kirat’ art skill, Language, literature culture, etc.
  14. To help/support the sick people (Patients) from community and help in the funeral.
  15. To campaign awareness among community CBD convention & Climate Change.
